Our Cleaning Process
The process of cleaning Leather. *Recommended Leather Care is every 3 years or when you spill something. Addressing spills in a timely fashion is important.
Steps of the Cleaning Process
- Inspect garment --- When received for cleaning, we inspect garment and provide a detailed description of types of leather, soil/ stain content, and any visible damage such as missing buttons or worn edges. Analysis of this sort, allows us to have a ‘before’ cleaning assessment of each item cleaned. Inspection is where our commitment to Quality starts and finishes.
- Treat for Stains --- We separate colors and types of skins to determine how each is to be cleaned. Each garment is hand spotted.
- Clean Garments --- Our state of the art facility uses advanced dry cleaning and wet cleaning techniques to achieve maximum soil removal with limited agitation. Both processes restore correct oil levels and proper ph for leather and suede.
- Air Dry --- Garments are allowed to air dry, which limits amount of agitation each item receives and provides less chance of any damage occurring during the cleaning process.
- Fluff --- Garment is allowed to tumble in a warm dryer for a short time to relax skins.
- Press --- We press every item and crop to original shape using mild heat. Our presses can block even the most stubborn garments. Suede and Nubuck are brushed to restore the original nap to the skins.
- Restore Color --- Jackets are then sent to the spray booth where color is restored.
- We use the latest in leather and suede finishes to correctly match virtually any color.
- Inspection --- The most important part of our job is to fully inspect garments before they are bagged and ready for delivery.
